App name : Hazard Lights
Developer : Neptune Apps ( Lahiru Dilshan )
Package name : com.neptuneapps.hazardlights
Last updated : June 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Hazard Lights ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application. We designed this app to collect as little personal data as possible. Most of your settings stay on your device.

By using Hazard Lights, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Summary

  • We do not require an account, email, phone number, or login.
  • We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, location, or messages.
  • Your hazard light settings are stored locally on your device.
  • The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect data for advertising as described below.
  • You can remove local app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

2. Information Stored on Your Device (Local Data)

Hazard Lights saves some information on your phone so the app works correctly. This data stays on your device unless you clear app data, reset the app, or uninstall it.

Examples of locally stored information include:

  • Hazard light settings (pattern, color, speed, sound, vibration, brightness)
  • Quick preset selections
  • Whether hazard lights are currently on or off
  • App usage preferences (for example: whether you visited Settings, app launch count, hazard stop count)
  • Preferences related to review prompts and ad display rules

We do not operate a server that receives this local settings data.

3. Information Collected by Third Parties

The app uses third-party services that may collect information according to their own privacy policies.

3.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

Hazard Lights displays interstitial advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data such as:

  • Advertising ID (AAID/GAID)
  • IP address
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
  • Approximate location derived from IP address

This data may be used to show ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and personalize ads (depending on your consent and device settings).

3.2 Google User Messaging Platform (Consent)

In some regions (including the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for your advertising consent where required by law. Your consent choices are handled through Google's consent tools.

3.3 Google Play In-App Review

If you choose to rate the app, we may use Google's In-App Review API. Google controls that review flow. We do not receive your star rating or review text directly through this feature.

4. Permissions We Use

Hazard Lights requests only the permissions needed for core features:

  • Internet: Required to load and display ads, and to open links such as the Privacy Policy and Play Store page.
  • Vibrate: Used for optional vibration feedback while hazard lights are active.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call logs, or precise location.

5. How We Use Information

We use information only to:

  • Provide hazard light functionality and saved settings
  • Remember your in-app preferences
  • Display advertisements
  • Comply with consent and legal requirements in supported regions
  • Improve app stability and user experience

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Data may be processed by trusted third-party providers only as needed to operate the app, mainly:

  • Google (AdMob, consent, Play services)

These providers may process data under their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

7. Data Retention

  • Local app data: Kept on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
  • Ad/consent data: Retained by Google according to Google's policies and your device/consent settings.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the app. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Because most app settings remain on your device, keeping your phone secure (screen lock, updates, trusted apps) helps protect your data.

9. Children's Privacy

Hazard Lights is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help address it.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain data processing.

You can take these steps at any time:

  • Reset local app data: Android Settings → Apps → Hazard Lights → Storage → Clear storage
  • Limit ad personalization: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
  • Reset Advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
  • Manage ad consent: Re-open the app in regions where the consent form is shown, or adjust privacy settings on your device/Google account where available
  • Stop all app data collection: Uninstall Hazard Lights

If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also have rights under GDPR. You may contact us using the details below to make a request.

11. International Users

Third-party services such as Google may process data on servers located in countries other than your own. Those transfers are governed by the third party's safeguards and legal requirements.

12. Safety Notice

Hazard Lights is intended for emergency and visibility use only. It is not a replacement for vehicle hazard warning systems. Always follow local traffic and safety laws.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
